Milestone Supports Engineer and Creates New Business Opportunities

In Support engineer Felix Östh wasn’t employed as a developer when he came up with a new tool for the company’s customers. But InSupport CEO Fredrik Westin took him seriously when he suggested a tool that gives customers access to relevant incident information quickly and efficiently.

An important solution

Felix, now a full-time developer at InSupport, is the creator of TryggSupport, a new tool using the Milestone Integration Platform Software Development Kit (SDK). He developed and integrated the tool as an add-on to the Milestone XProtect Smart Client, which puts needed functionality within easy reach of the operator. The add-on is also used in a second emergency service tool, TryggLARM. This tool features the ability to combine SMS and e-mail alarm messages, enabling faster and easier communication with customers. The tools allow InSupport to optimize customer communications and provide real-time customer support for an superior customer experience.

“Our CEO pointed me to the Milestone MIP SDK and gave me an idea for how to start to developing add-ons using it. I started experimenting and testing, and eventually found the idea of a support add-on,” said Felix, “Milestone MIP SDK is great as it’s very easy to get started and to experiment with the many possibilities, and be creative. It’s fun and easy to start cool projects and test different features. You can do everything on Milestone SDK.”

Felix developed the tool himself during and after work. He now works full-time to develop new InSupport features and functionalities that could be useful for new industries and types of customers.

A future in smart solutions from smart developers

TryggSupport is the first commercial plug-in developed by InSupport and was an instant success. The plugin has been sold to hundreds of companies in retail, real estate and surveillance sectors, with new customer requests coming in almost every day.
